Riverwood Healthcare Center

If I could give 0 stars, I would give. I have been working in the healthcare field for almost 6 years. I have 1 star, because of some of the staff who works there. Currently, I am working through the registry, and a few shifts I picked up here. Some of the unit's CNAs are helpful but the Unit 1 CNAs including nurses are very rude and unhelpful. They had me work in unit 1 one time, and that's the heaviest unit that needs more assistance with two-person assist persons and one OCD resident who can't speak, we have to understand what she is trying to say looking at her phone. I was having a hard time understanding what she wanted I called for help nobody showed up, and later when I asked the regular CNAs who work on that Unit every day they refused to help. I could not find someone who could help me change the two-person assist person. I was so behind with all my work. I even mentioned to the DON how her staff is treating us registry not trying to help she said she will come or send someone to help, which she never did. And after my hectic shift, I went home, and I see that this facility has DNR me from their list. When I tried to speak for myself do you treat me that way? And the reason for the DNR when I asked clipboard they said my dress was not appropriate. I spilled the coffee so I had to put my jacket outside my clothes. When your staff are allowed to wear hoodie and jackets at work we registry can't? Because I spoke against your employee with you so you DNR me.

I am not able to post a photo as it is against Riverwood Healthcare policy to take photos or video on their premises. That was red flag #1. Red flag #2 they leave patients with "fall risk" bracelets in wheelchairs without enough supervision to keep them from falling out of said wheelchair and fracturing their hip. Red flag #3 was when my family member got Covid for the very first time while they were a patient at Riverwood Healthcare Center. Riverwood staff lost vital property of this patient that essentially could not be replaced. The staff at Riverwood in Stockton, CA are overworked, they are understaffed and that all led to subpar care. Grateful my family member is no longer there. Unfortunately having them transferred to a much more appropriate care facility was also a nightmare. At one point the staff at Riverwood did not know where my family member was. Also, nearly 10k a month. Inexcusable.

This is truly a 5 star facility. From the minute you walk in you are greeted by friendly staff. They have one main nurses area and you can see how well they all work together. The cleanliness is most noticeable while walking through the facility. The rehab staff went above and beyond and we are so grateful for them. I would highly recommend Riverwood for Rehabilitation.

Riverwood Healthcare Center is a Skilled Nursing Facility with an amazing and caring team. After 24 years of administering healthcare facilities I believe this team to be the best I’ve worked with. They are committed to the well being of their patients and working together for excellence. I am extremely fortunate to work with each and every team member, to include the physicians and local hospital professionals. I feel extremely honored to serve our staff, patients.and community through Riverwood Healthcare Center.

I’ve worked at Riverwood now for almost 3 years now & I absolutely love it! The team is beyond awesome! One of my favorite things about working at RWHC is being able to interact with our patients & residents. I love seeing all the staff make a difference in our patients life. I would definitely send my family & friends to Riverwood!
